I started out in the mortgage business in 1987 when 30 year fixed rate mortgages were about 12%, the Conforming Loan limit in California was $153,100 and the median home price in Los Angeles was only $165,000.  We were excited when our office got a new computer, our first fax machine and offered our first Jumbo Loans.  How times have changed!

Since then, I have seen many market cycles, rates rising and falling, guidelines getting tighter and then relaxed, but one thing has not changed when you apply for a Conforming or Jumbo Mortgage in California:
